I visited Salt Creek Beach on 04/30/2012 at approximately 4:00 p.m. The air temperature was 64 degrees and the water temperature was between 59 to 62 degrees. It was overcast today with SW/WSW winds 3-7 kts. The swell was S, SW, W, WNW, a couple feet overhead. Despite the overcast conditions, there were probably 25-30 surfers in the water. There were very few people out on the beach today.

I visited Salt Creek Beach once again. It was a beautiful day today and there were many people enjoying the weather. The air temperature was 60 degrees. The water temperature was between 58 and 60 degrees. Scattered clouds were noted. The S-SW winds were very light. A mix of NW wind/groundswell and small scale SW swell provided knee-waist high waves. Some larger waves were chest-shoulder high at times. There were many surfers in the ocean today taking advantage of the beautiful weather. I would estimate 50-75 people in the water. The beach had a number of people enjoying it as well. There were many seagulls spotted. I did notice a couple of boats in the distance and a very low-flying plane overhead.

I visited Salt Creek Beach on 01/30/2012 at 4:00 p.m. The air temperate was 60 degrees. The water temperature today was between 57 and 59 degrees. Scattered clouds were noted with a light Southerly wind. Winds were E, SE and S. The ocean was calm and the swell was S, SW, W, WNW. The tide was medium to medium high. The surf report says that most breaks top out around knee high, with a few thigh high to slightly larger waves for top breaks. The surf report says "it's looking very slow across the region this afternoon." There were a few people in the ocean trying to catch a wave. I estimated about 20 people on the beach, walking, running, or just waiting for the sunset. There were about 25-30 seagulls.

I visited Salt Creek Beach on 12/30/2011 at 2:00 p.m. It was a very nice day and the air temperature was 55 degrees but it felt warmer. The water temperature was between 57 and 59 degrees. Scattered clouds were noted. The sun was shining brightly. No breeze was noted. The ocean conditions were perfect for surfing. Better breaks offered knee-waist-chest high surf with some spots offering up to shoulder high+ range. Surf was 3-4 foot with occasional 5 foot waves. The swell was S, SW, W, and WNW. There were many people at the beach today, probably due to the holiday. I estimated approximately 100 people on the beach and probably 75+ surfers. I counted 10 boats out in the ocean with occasional gulls flying overhead. Overall, a very pleasant day for the beach.

It was an unusually warm day and was above the normal for this time of year. There was no breeze at all and there were scattered clouds noted. The ocean was glassy with small scale surf in the 1, 2 and 3 foot range. The swell was S, SW, W, and WNW a couple of feet overhead. The best tide was medium to medium high. There were approximately 30-40 surfers out in the ocean and many more trying to get in and catch a wave before sunset. There was one fishing boat out in the distance and a few seagulls. I did not see many people on the beach although it was late in the day and the sun was about to set.

The winds were westerly at 7 kts. The ocean was noted to be rippled. The swell was S to SW, a couple of feet overhead. The tide was medium to medium high. The beach itself was pretty quiet, but then again, it is Halloween. I noticed only 3 people on the beach itself. There were approximately 10 surfers in the water. No boats were seen today. There were some seagulls overhead and many birds on the beach. It looked to be the perfect conditions for catching a wave.
