I visited Salt Creek Beach on 11/28/2011 at 4:25 p.m.  The air temperature was 78 degrees and the water temperature was between 59 to 61 degrees.  It was an unusually warm day and was above the normal for this time of year.  There was no breeze at all and there were scattered clouds noted.  The ocean was glassy with small scale surf in the 1, 2 and 3 foot range.  The swell was S, SW, W, and WNW a couple of feet overhead.  The best tide was medium to medium high.  There were approximately 30-40 surfers out in the ocean and many more trying to get in and catch a wave before sunset.  There was one fishing boat out in the distance and a few seagulls.  I did not see many people on the beach although it was late in the day and the sun was about to set.
